• Suryakumar Yadav impressed in his first opportunity to show what he was capable of on the international stage. After making his debut in Sunday’s India victory but not getting to bat, Yadav hit his first ball in international cricket for six as well as two other maximums in his 31 ball 57. Shreyas Iyer impressed again, as did the reliable Rishabh Pant, in Thursday’s win for India.
• Hardik Pandya starred with the ball for India in the series levelling fixture. He not only took the wickets of Jason Roy and Sam Curran but returned figures of 2-16 from his 4 overs.
• For England, Jofra Archer continued his impressive series by recording format best figures of 4-33, Jason Roy made his third 40 something of the series and Ben Stokes top scored with a 23 ball 46. However, all three will need to step up their performances again if England are to stop India.
